As we all know during the Primary wars there was one issue that Clinton supporters held out as the big difference and one of the prime reasons they supported Hillary over Obama - Health Care. It was also one the few issues where there was some real distinction.
I always felt that once the primary was over and Obama and Clinton started to work together their plans would get closer. Well, it seems I wasn't all that wrong.
As some of you may know Hillary held on on line chat recently with her supporters and the Health care issue was raised. The following is the question and the response.
Q: One of the main reasons that I voted for Hillary is her plans for health care. Can you make a comment on how health care [will be] carried out in the next administration?A: I am so pleased that Sen. Obama shares my commitment to universal health care. Once he is elected, I will be working closely with his administration, members of Congress, health care advocates, and others -- to help develop a plan that ensures access to health care for every American. I know how important this issue is and it will be my top priority.
Personally I think this is great. I may not have voted for her in the primary, but there was one thing I could not take away from her. She is probably the most knowledgeable
person on health care in the government today. And I think having her work with the Obama administration on this issue can only insure we all get something that works.
